SEMS Screws Pan Phillips
Rated 0 out of 5(0)SEMS SCREWS
SEMS Screws are screws pre-assembled with free spinning washers. The assembly typically contains one plain washer and one split spring washer.
The washers are held in place with the major diameter of the thread being larger than the hole of the washer. This is achieved by inserting the washers before thread rolling.
SEMS screws provide design and manufacturing efficiencies by combining multiple parts, captive washer and screw, into one versatile fastener.
This has many benefits which have revolutionised assembly manufacturing processes, particularly in the Aerospace Avionics sector.
Advantages
– Increased productivity by eliminating hand assembly of washers with the screws.
– Permanent assembly ensuring that the washers are not misplaced.
– Safety for the product as there is no chance of a washer being dropped into the assembly.– One part to inventory, track and assemble.
SEMS screws work well in products with small dimensions, allowing for seamless integration and assembly with a lower risk of error or failure.

Pan Head Screws
Rated 0 out of 5(0)The pan head is a commonly used head style for screws.
It looks like an upside down frying pan – pan head screws have a cylindrical head with a slightly rounded top surface and a flat bearing surface underneath.
Pan head screws are visually appealing and can take higher torque and provide better clamping force.
This head style is ideal for most applications where a protruding head is acceptable.
Pan Head Machine Screws
Pan Phillips Screws
The Phillips screw drive (specified as an ANSI Type I Cross Recess and type H in ISO documentation) is among the most popular drive style for screws.
Cross recess H (Phillips) according to ISO 4757 has a conventional cruciform recess with all walls inclined, the end of the screwdriver having trapezoid webs.
The design is often criticized for its tendency to cam out at lower torque levels than other “cross head” designs.

Captive Screws
Rated 0 out of 5(0)Captive screws basically are specially designed to lock into position in a hole, enabling easy setting up and removing of the attached pieces even without the complete removal of the screw.
A conventional screw typically passes through a clearance hole in one part and then screws into a threaded hole in a second part — so the first part is clamped to the second.
However, when the fastener is unscrewed from the threaded hole in the second component, it can easily separate from the first one.
A captive screw is designed to prevent this from occurring. It can freely rotate within the first component, with some axial movement, but it’s unable to separate from it.
USES : Captive screws are used when fasteners must remain attached to equipment, such as in cover panels. They are a requirement for several machinery safety standards.
They provide a secure joining, and avoid fastener loss or damage that might be caused by a loose part.
Captive screws come with Philips, Allen head or standard heads that are designed for usage with drill equipment and ordinary screwdrivers.
Captive screws can be found in several configurations and sizes much like the conventional screws premeditated to be utilized for large number of applications.

Safety & Conical Spring...
Rated 0 out of 5(0)These are used for locking a device and reducing the vibration. They reduce loosening by preventing unscrewing rotation of the fastening device; locking washers are usually also spring washers.
Washers are available in a wide range such as spring washers, star washers, multi-tooth washers, disc spring washers, wave washers, taper washers, safety washers etc.
Serrated Safety Washers Type S – Schnorr Type
The Safety Washers are of trapezoidal cross section and serrated on both sides. The security is achieved through friction and mechanical locking.Advantages- The cross section ensures locking effect at the outside diameter.
- Due to the closed ring form, high degree of pretensioning is achieved.
- Sliding surfaces allow tightening with damaging the mating surfaces.
- High resistance to vibration due to positive locking of the serrations
- Suitable for a wide range of screw/bolt heads minimizing stocks.

Hex Self Tapping Screws
Rated 0 out of 5(0)Self-tapping screws are different to traditional screws as they tap their own threads when screwed into either plastic, wood or metal.
USAGE GUIDELINES– The pilot hole size is very important to achieve a proper installation. Make trials using the guidelines in the product datasheets before mass production. The hole size would be dependent upon the base material strength, base material thickness, pull out strength and ease of installation required.– Do not overtighten. Use the correct tightening Torque as recommended. See the product datasheets for information. Usage of Torque control drivers is suggested.– Do NOT use the screws to compensate for any alignment defects by applying more force than required. This will cause un-stability of the connection and unpredictable failure.– Use the correct countersink tool for CSK screws to achieve a flush fixing.– Use a good quality drive bit to avoid excessive play and Cam out problems. -

Countersunk or Flat Head Scr...
Rated 0 out of 5(0)SCREWS
Countersunk screws are also called Flat head or CSK screws. These screws have a flat head which tapers along the shaft.
Flat head screws are used for flush mounting of sections, usually where one part slides over another or one part is mounted on another. They are used with a countersunk hole to provide a flush, snag free fit.
Countersunk head screws, like button heads and low heads, are limited by configuration in their tensile strength capability. Because of this, they should not be used in applications requiring full strength, where Socket Head Cap Screws should be used.
Flat head screws require a matching counter in the workpiece.
The Countersunk head is preferred to obtain a flush and level finish without any projection in metal or plastic. They sink into the surface to give a smooth exterior finish.
The head angle for metric countersunk socket screws is 90 degrees up to & including M20 and 60 degrees over M20.
The head angle for Imperial is different – Unified is 82 degrees and British thread forms are 90 degrees.

Retaining Washers
Rated 0 out of 5(0)Retaining Washers feature internal fins, which grip the thread of a fasteners, creating a self-retaining fastening. Retaining Washers are designed for use with Captive. The combination of Captive Screw and Retaining Washer creates a lightweight and cost-effective locking solution for safety applications.
A Plastic Retaining Washer is primarily used to hold screws and bolts in place during assembly and have a design that grips the outside of screw or bolt shank. Also known as an Anti Loss Washer, they provide insulation, cushioning and spacing. They help insulate fastening assemblies from moisture and electricity.
This washer range includes options with internal and external teeth with a tapered design. The washer slides/assembles on to the screw (or bolt) and is retained by the screw once assembled. The washer cold forms and fully enters the pitch of the screw to provide sealing.
These washers allow for preliminary mounting of the screw (or bolt) before securing with a nut. They are ideal when pre-assembly of the screw and washer is required.
