This grade of titanium has the highest grade of corrosion resistance. It is used in a broad range of corrosive environments such as salt water, acids, alkalis, and other industrial chemicals.– Ti-Grade5Ti 6AI-4V – High strength grade.
This grade is among the most common grades of titanium. While not as corrosive resistant as the CP grade, it does offer good corrosive resistance. It offers a higher tensile strength compared to the CP grade. -
Marine Grade Fasteners
What are marine grade fasteners?
Marine grade fasteners refer to fasteners that have been designed specifically for the marine industry. In other words, they are entirely weather/corrosion resistant. A salt water (marine) environment is a difficult one for metals because of corrosion. On any ship, boat, or oil rig part of the hull or structure remains under water in use, while another portion is above, creating different “zones”, and different corrosion resisting solutions.
Most Stainless Steel fasteners do not stand up to the corrosive properties of saltwater environments. It requires special grades of Stainless Steel like 316 Grade A4, duplex Stainless Steel, Monel or Titanium to serve the purpose.
Stainless Steel Grade AISI 316 A4 is now becoming increasingly popular for a number of applications because of the long life it imparts to the components. It is also know as food grade stainless steel and is very useful in food processing, Pharmaceutical and Chemical industries.
AISI-316 Stainless Steel’s excellent corrosion resistance makes it perfect for both internal and external applications.
Whilst this higher-grade steel is generally more expensive than A2 Stainless Steel fasteners, it can be more cost-effective over a longer period of time, due to it’s corrosion resistance and durability, leading to reduced maintenance costs, fewer replacement parts and less down time due to equipment breakdown. It will also remain clean and bright under atmospheric conditions.
MAGNETISM – It is very important to recognise the fact that all stainless steel fasteners after cold working exhibit magnetism to some extent including SS-316
We have a large range of AISI 316 Screws, Nuts, Washers and other Fasteners.

High Strength Stainless Steel
The special characteristic of Aerospace products include high strength and corrosion resistance.
These help to withstand high pressure (for eg, while exiting earth’s atmosphere) and higher temperature (for eg, exposure to burning rocket fuel).
High Strength Stainless Steel Fasteners: A2-80 and A4-80
A2-80 and A4-80 combine the high mechanical strength with corrosion resistance for an effective solution to many situations.
These are very useful for Aerospace applications as they allow the designer to reduce weight of the fastener for a joint.
Higher mechanical strength as compared to standard A2 / A4 is achieved through the cold-drawing process, providing a minimum Ultimate Tensile Strength of 800 MPa.
For most Aerospace, Petro-chemical and Offshore applications, SS-316 A4 is the preferred choice.
Unlike 304, 316 stainless steel has a higher nickel composition and contains a relatively high amount of molybdenum, whereas the 304 stainless steel does not contain molybdenum at all. This differences provides 316 stainless steel (or A4 stainless steel) a significantly greater corrosion resistance. This corrosion resistance specifically denotes A4 stainless steel with the ability to resist acids and salts, making it a great solution for research, chemical engineering and marine applications, amongst many others.
Designers and Engineers may find value in this extra corrosions resistance, especially if replacement or maintenance costs are relatively high, such as on tall buildings, installations that may experience any sort of salt spray or underwater applications, or simply for creating longer lasting lab or engineering equipment that may be subject to acidic or salty conditions.
Additionally if mechanical properties are also a concern for the material?
For equipment that is moving or having to withstand significant mechanical strain, then having a higher class stainless steel will also improve the life of the fastener, thereby reducing MRO costs and possible down time.
In such situations, the A4-80 range of fasteners are the best option that provides high corrosion resistance along with high mechanical strength.

Black Coated Fasteners
Adding to our ever growing range are BLACK Stainless Steel Fasteners.
This finish is very useful in reducing light reflection from parts and providing an integrated finish to black coloured products and parts.
The coating reduces friction of moving parts, preventing galling and scoring.
With negligible dimensional build up, smooth screw assembly is assured.
At present, we have a wide range of black fasteners in stock including PAN Phillips and CSK Phillips screws in Metric Threads, thread forming screws, along with nuts and washers.
Other screws can also be provided in black on order.

Countersunk or Flat Head Screws
SCREWS
Countersunk screws are also called Flat head or CSK screws. These screws have a flat head which tapers along the shaft.
Flat head screws are used for flush mounting of sections, usually where one part slides over another or one part is mounted on another. They are used with a countersunk hole to provide a flush, snag free fit.
Countersunk head screws, like button heads and low heads, are limited by configuration in their tensile strength capability. Because of this, they should not be used in applications requiring full strength, where Socket Head Cap Screws should be used.
Flat head screws require a matching counter in the workpiece.
The Countersunk head is preferred to obtain a flush and level finish without any projection in metal or plastic. They sink into the surface to give a smooth exterior finish.
The head angle for metric countersunk socket screws is 90 degrees up to & including M20 and 60 degrees over M20.
The head angle for Imperial is different – Unified is 82 degrees and British thread forms are 90 degrees.

Pan Head Screws
The pan head is a commonly used head style for screws.
It looks like an upside down frying pan – pan head screws have a cylindrical head with a slightly rounded top surface and a flat bearing surface underneath.
Pan head screws are visually appealing and can take higher torque and provide better clamping force.
This head style is ideal for most applications where a protruding head is acceptable.
Pan Head Machine Screws
Pan Phillips Screws
The Phillips screw drive (specified as an ANSI Type I Cross Recess and type H in ISO documentation) is among the most popular drive style for screws.
Cross recess H (Phillips) according to ISO 4757 has a conventional cruciform recess with all walls inclined, the end of the screwdriver having trapezoid webs.
The design is often criticized for its tendency to cam out at lower torque levels than other “cross head” designs.

Pre Applied Patch Screws
Pre applied Thread-Locker Patch Screws
Nylon patch is a pre-applied thread locking coating (typically Nylon), which is fused to internal or external threads of a screw. This patch is dry to the touch and ready for use right out of the box.
Convenience and Reliability:
- Fasteners with pre-applied threadlock are ready for assembly
- Increases productivity on assembly lines with precise thread coverage every time
- 4 years of shelf life under proper storage conditions
- Dry-to-touch, non-tacky finish, non-toxic, and assembler-friendly
- Suitable for temperatures ranging from -58°F to 300°F (-50°C to 150°C)
- Ideal for automated assembly, replacing washer and manual dispensing on production line.
Advantage of a pre applied patch over using thread locking adhesives during assembly.
Perhaps the biggest advantage of preapplying thread-lockers is simply that engineers can be certain the adhesive will actually be on the fastener, in the correct amount and in the correct location. When line personnel apply liquid adhesives during assembly, the process is prone to error. The adhesive may not get dispensed on some fasteners, or it might not be applied in the right spot.
Similarly, with preapplied thread-lockers, engineers can be sure their torque specifications will be met, because the amount of adhesive applied to each fastener will be carefully controlled.
Lastly, preapplying a thread-locker saves assemblers time and money. Liquid adhesives often need a primer to stick to the metal surface of a fastener. The preapplication process eliminates this step. Moreover, every drop of liquid adhesive costs money-and not just for the material itself. Assemblers also need to factor in the cost of waste, dispensing equipment, and cleaning and maintenance.
Nylon patch screw is commonly known as a prevailing torque type self-locking fastener.
